Blog Post 14: If You Had to Get 10 Orders This Week, What Would You Do?

If you had to get 10 orders this week, what would you actually do?

It is a question that strips everything back. No overthinking, no waiting for the “right time”, no endless tweaking behind the scenes. Just action. Because when there is a clear target and a short timeframe, you stop focusing on what might work and start focusing on what actually does. And the truth is, most bakers already have what they need to bring in more orders. It is not about starting again. It is about using what you have in a more intentional way.

The first thing you would do is get properly clear on what you are offering. Not in a vague way, not in a “people will get the idea” way, but in a way that leaves no room for confusion. When someone lands on your page or sees your post, they are making a decision almost instantly about whether it is relevant to them. It takes a fraction of a second to form that first impression, and most people are not reading everything you write, they are scanning for something that makes sense quickly. So if you had to get 10 orders this week, you would tighten your message. You would clearly say what you sell, who it is for and how to order. You would stop hiding the important information and start leading with it. Because clarity is what turns interest into enquiries.

Once that is in place, you would look at where you are actually showing up. One of the biggest reasons bakers struggle to get consistent orders is not because their bakes are not good enough, it is because not enough people are seeing them. Most people rely on one or two platforms and then wonder why things feel slow. But people rarely buy the first time they see you. In fact, it often takes multiple touchpoints before someone decides to go ahead. That means if you are only posting in one place, you are limiting your chances massively. So if you needed those 10 orders, you would not just post once and hope for the best. You would take your clear offer and put it in front of as many relevant people as possible. Local Facebook groups, your personal profile, Instagram stories, community pages, WhatsApp status, anywhere your ideal customer might already be spending time. You would focus on being seen, not just being active.

You would also stop relying on the same audience over and over again. A lot of bakers end up speaking to the same small group of people, which makes growth feel slow and unpredictable. If you want more orders, more people need to know you exist. That means stepping outside your usual space and putting your business in front of new circles. Even small actions can make a big difference here. Sharing your post into a new group, asking a customer to tag you, or posting somewhere you have never posted before can introduce your business to people who have never come across you. When you show up in more than one place, your reach increases significantly, and that naturally creates more opportunities for orders to come in.

At the same time, you would not ignore the people who already know you. This is often the quickest route to getting orders, yet it is something many bakers overlook. Your existing audience already trusts you more than someone seeing you for the first time. They have followed you, engaged with your content or even bought from you before. So if you needed 10 orders this week, you would speak directly to them. You would remind them you are taking orders, show them what is available and make it easy for them to come back to you. Sometimes the easiest sales are not new customers, they are the ones who have been there all along but just needed a nudge.

Another thing you would focus on is building trust, because visibility on its own is not enough. People need a reason to choose you. When someone is deciding between bakers, they are not just looking at the product, they are looking for reassurance. They want to know that others have had a good experience, that you are reliable, that what they see is what they will get. This is where small changes make a huge difference. Sharing reviews, posting real customer orders, showing repeat business, talking about your process, these are all ways to build confidence without needing to change your product at all. When people trust you, they are far more likely to go ahead.

You would also make it as easy as possible for someone to order from you. This sounds simple, but it is one of the biggest blockers in many baking businesses. If someone has to message you to ask basic questions like price, availability or how to book, you are creating friction. And when something feels like effort, people often put it off or move on. So if you needed those 10 orders, you would remove that friction. You would clearly explain what is available, when it is available and how to secure it. You would include a simple call to action and repeat it regularly. Because when people know exactly what to do next, they are much more likely to do it.

When you bring all of these things together, something shifts. You are no longer relying on luck or hoping the algorithm works in your favour. You are creating multiple opportunities for people to find you, understand what you offer, trust you and take action. That is where consistency starts to come from. Not from doing more, but from doing the right things in a clearer and more focused way.

If you are reading this and thinking it sounds simple, that is because it is. But simple does not mean ineffective. These are the exact changes that move a business from feeling stuck to starting to grow. The challenge is not knowing what to do, it is actually doing it and sticking with it long enough to see the results.
